Is a BMS without balancing function suitable for 18650s battery?

I recently received a lithium ion BMS, but it has no BMS balancing function. Is it ok for 18650s ?

Yes. A BMS balance board is also called a Protection Circuit Module (PCM). According to its specifications, the BMS without balancing functions is suitable for an 18650 battery. The versatile functions of BMS for 18650 battery include:

  1. Preventing overcharge
  2. Over-discharge
  3. Transmitting battery status information

When any battery voltage is too high or too low, it should be cut off, but it can not equalize the battery voltage. This is not a problem if the cell is initially balanced and has a very low self-discharge rate.
